After nearly one year of never-ending cabin fever, the thought of a vacation makes our heart skip a beat or two. We've spent the last 10 months daydreaming of all the adventures we plan to take and now, we've got a few new ones to add to our bucket list.
Dream Vacation Planner Jessica Pisacane rounded up some socially distant vacation ideas and social distancing activities that will help you stay away from crowds, get some much-needed rest and relaxation and have a little fun with your families in 2021!
1. NATIONAL PARKS
Cross those National Parks off your bucket list!! America’s national parks were born of the idea to protect the country’s natural wonders for all to enjoy. The country’s first national park, Yellowstone, was established in 1872, and today, the United States is home to 58 national parks, each showcasing spectacular treasures. A visit to Yellowstone brings fumaroles, geysers, and sparkling lakes. At Yosemite in California, towering ancient trees paint a lush scene against stoic mountains. Arches National Park brings amazing sandstone arches and colorful rock formations, while Grand Canyon National Park offers breathtaking vistas of sweeping red canyon plunging deep into the earth. The tallest mountain in the United States, Mt. Denali, sits proudly amongst the vast landscape of Denali National Park. And this is just a sampling of the best national parks; each park brings its own splendor and vast expanses of land that are home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna.
2. RENT A HOUSEBOAT
Rent a Houseboat on Lake Powell. Imagine all the comforts of home—comfy beds, great living space, a fully appointed kitchen, and a solid sound system—on your private houseboat, surrounded by Lake Powell’s breathtaking scenery. One of the best things about houseboating is that even a first-time boater can learn how to pilot a houseboat after just a short lesson. Once you are underway, you’ll be off and exploring one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the country—home to 96 major side canyons and nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline. Enjoy swimming, fishing, stargazing and so much more.
3. ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORTS
Enjoy mile-long beaches with powder white sand, crystal blue water, non-motorized watersports, and many in the Caribbean and Mexico are limiting the number of guests at their resorts, as well as instituting extensive health/safety and sanitization protocols at the resorts.
4. WALT DISNEY WORLD
Walt Disney World Resort is an entertainment and recreation center of nearly 40 square miles featuring four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom); two water adventure parks (Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon); dozens of resort hotels and Disney Springs, an entertainment, shopping, and dining complex. Walt Disney World has limited the number of guests they are allowing in the parks and at resorts. Park reservations are now required in advance to enter a theme park to help maintain social distancing. Walt Disney World has vamped up its already intensive sanitation protocols, and health/safety regulations for guests, while still enjoying all the magic Disney has to offer.
