Local Business Spotlight: CappuGino's Coffee and Shakes

By By Makayla Silva, Macaroni Kid New Haven - Milford Editor & Publisher January 18, 2021

As parents, we are forever on the hunt for quick and easy kid-friendly options that are delicious, but more importantly, nutritious. When your kiddos are as picky as mine, those places are nearly impossible to find! So I brought my skeptical seven year old to CappuGino's Coffee and Shakes to test out their signature shake. It could have gone either way really.

Tucked inside the lobby of Milford Vascular Institute in Commerce Park, CappuGino’s opened its door in August as a family-owned and operated, community-centric coffee and shake café.

This place is known for their creative take on the ubiquitous protein shake, transforming them into red velvet cake, a Wendy's Frosty and thin mints. But, would their shakes satisfy my discerning daughter?  We recently put the CappuGino's signature Glow Bar shake to the test.

Inspired by the beauty and wellness specialist at The Glow Bar, CappuGino’s neighbor located inside Milford Vascular Institute, this hot pink cake-batter tasting shake is one of the most popular on the menu.

The Glow Bar is crafted with Dragon Fruit (which gives the shake its hot-pink hue,) unsweetened vanilla almond milk, dragon fruit, yogurt, strawberries and vanilla whey protein. Topped with whipped cream and gold sprinkles, the shake, if nothing else, looks too good to eat.

And, you guys, she liked it. She really liked it.

While CappuGino's does not currently offer a kid's menu, many of their shakes can satisfy any seven year old. With flavors like PB & Jam, Cookie Crunch and Cracker Jax, you'll likely want to try them all.

TIP: grab one of their punch cards to earn a free shake! (We've already filled up two cards!)

The local shake shop is focused on service to the local community, CappuGino's continuously offers programming like "Stuff the __" to support local nonprofits. Past "stuff" campaigns included stuffing the food pantry, stuffing the sack with Christmas toys and stuffing the backpack with school supplies.  Plus, each month, a CappuGino’s team member selects a local organization to support as part of the Gino’s Promise initiative. This month, the Friends of the Milford Library will receive a portion of all CappuGino's proceeds.

So, for delicious, nutritious, kid-tested shakes to help support local organizations, visit our friends at CappuGino's!
